US singer Katy Perry will be the star at this year’s Life Ball, organiser Gery Keszler revealed this week.
The pop star, who has topped the charts with her hits "I Kissed A Girl" and "Hot’N’Cold" this year as well as last, will perform live at the catwalk of the charity event that will take place at Vienna city hall on 16 May.
People will be able to attend Perry’s performance free of charge, while tickets for the party inside the City Hall are in great demand. Last year, actress Sharon Stone and model Marcus Schenkenberg attended the event at which naked breasts, bare buttocks and tonnes of colourful paint and glitter helped raise a record 1.4 million Euros for various Aids charities.
Water will be the theme of the event, which sees its 17th edition this year. Organisers revealed a large part of the event would occur on, in or under water on the square in front of city hall to showcase water’s elemental force and importance for life. The ball will also highlight the lack of water in many parts of the world massively affected by HIV and Aids.
