The Planet Where Time Goes Backwards
Far beyond our solar system(太阳系）,
In the outer reaches of space（外太空）,
There’s a planet（星球） where time goes backwards,
And it’s the most peculiar（奇特） place.
A place where birds climb into their shells（壳）,
And leaves flutter up（飘扬起来） to the trees,
Clouds suck（吸收） rain from out of the ground,
And rivers flow（流动） out of the seas.
Cooks wash the dishes before the meals starts
And unpeel（未剥皮的） potatoes,I’m told.
Your dinner goes into the oven（烤箱）,
And comes out nice and cold.
Construction workers（建筑工人） start with a house
And take it apart（拆开） brick by brick.
At lunchtime they spit out（吐出） their sandwiches.
(It looks like they’re being sick!)
At gas pumps they take the fuel（燃料） out of cars,
And football’s not much of a laugh:
The game ends with both teams at zero,
And they start by taking a bath.
You know something bad’s going to happen,
When somebody starts to cry.
But the people get younger each day,
And they greet you by saying”Goodbye.”
