Order in Dominance : Makhulu was the most Dominant Male within the Mapogo ranks, occupying the leader role from 2004 to 2013.
Backround : He was the oldest Brother, leading his 5 brothers to their legendary reign. Always one step ahead of his adversaries, way ahead of his time as a Coalition Leader. Before he formed the Mapogos he also formed part of his Fathers' Coalition from 2002 to 2004, helping them extend their reign in Sabi Sands as their right hand man. A Fathers and Son partership which is a rare event in Lion society. Makhulu was known to defeat rivals in one on one combat, defeating an estimated 10 Male Lions in his lifetime in this fashion. The biggest Mapogo in size, known as one of the biggest Lions seen in the greater Kruger and Kruger. Always a great Leader, he kept his 5 killer, younger brothers as a unified unit long enough to create what they call the greatest reign in Lion history. A Legendary Leader that loved his brothers like his own cubs, the reign began with him and ended with him. It was once witnessed by Guides, Rangers and Guests how in the same moment he chased an entire Hyena clan of 30+ members by himself and stared down a wall of elephants and made them retreat.
