Last week, she and husband Josh Duhamel announced they were ending their eight-year marriage. And she recently admitted how "weird" it's been pretending they were still together before breaking the news.
But on September 22, she release her new visual album, "Double Duchess", her first new music in over a decade, and the milestone brought tears of joy to her eyes.
In a live TV interview with "The Today Show" that morning, the hosts informed her that "Double Duchess" debuted at number one on iTunes.
Image: Getty"What?" said Fergie, who covered her mouth with her hands before tears welled up in her eyes. "Oh my God, really? Thank you! Thank you everybody. Oh my God, I worked so hard."
"I'm losing it," she laughed, choked up. "I'm crazy losing it."
The 42-year-old singer, who shares four-year-old son Axl with Josh, has said the new album is full of emotional songs inspired by real-life experiences.
