He suggests it's better if Kyouko pay a bit of attention to her expression because other people would draw back from her since "love is blind."
Koga poses the rhetorical question of why he hates Ren (Kyouko argues that no one asked that question), but Koga goes on to explain that he'd heard the ronin role in Hachisu was first offered to Ren. Wherever he goes, even if only in entertainment, it's always Ren. The poll for Male Celebrity that Women Want to be Hugged by gets mentioned, and only then does Kyouko realize Koga came in second place in the poll. Koga wishes Ren would leave for the wider world and disappear from Japan, since Ren is outside Japanese norms. Koga liked Kyouko but since she likes Ren and not just as a casual fan, Koga now seems to be against Kyouko.
Cut to Yashiro's conversation where he's apparently informed of Lory's decision. Only Yashiro's side seems to have been shown, but he plans to contact Ren tonight or tomorrow. After the call, Yashiro apparently notices Kimiko nearby. It seems that Kimiko had joined the conversation with Koga and Kyouko.
Kimiko asks if (probably Koga's words) means his favorable impression of Kyouko has dropped markedly, and she requests he not be mean to her in the final test. Koga replies he doesn't have the authority to decide; all he can do is be mean on set. Kimiko apparently plays along, saying he's scary. He tells them to do their best. He'd heard that the other Momiji candidates had abstained, so the choice is down to the two of them. If they want to be nagged by him more, they'd better win. Kimiko tells Kyouko they have something in common (apparently their liking for Ren) and suggests they fight fair and square until the end and not do anything that would embarrass them as people who revere a lofty guy (in other words, Ren). Kimiko apparently probes whether Kyouko's feelings for Ren is more than just respect for him as an actor and a person, but Kyouko plays dumb, so Kimiko apologizes for asking a strange question and suggests they head to the location of the next audition test. Kyouko thinks Yashiro won't tell Ren about the conversation she had.
It's not clear who's talking but I suspect it's Kimiko. She tells someone (maybe Koga) she's not feeling nervous, but she's someone whose intense feelings have gotten weak (?), so as an omamori, Ren would secretly put "this" on her finger. (No indication what "this" is.) Koga is surprised it's the right pinky; it seems significant and he tries to remember whether the meaning is romantic. Kimiko taken aback by the suggestion, claiming Ren's an adult who wouldn't view her as a romantic interest; after all, the year before last (during Purple Down II), she was just 15. The other person apparently points out that she's 17 this year, and at 17, she can get married and the country recognizes her as a fine lady.
Hearing this, Kyouko apparently gets a flashback to Bou's conversation with Ren, how 16 is acceptable, and a 16 year old can get married. Kimiko (apparently) tells Koga that it has the meaning of being allowed to increase her expressive ability or drawing out her expressive ability from the pinky ring. She's sure that's what Ren intended. However, Koga points out it's a brand-name product; he knows because he'd bought something similar for his younger sister's birthday, so it isn't something exchanged between a senpai and a kouhai. By implication, it's expensive. She says she'd also worried about it and tried asking, but was told it also served as reciprocation for the Valentine's gift, so it's fine. She'd given a vintage and somewhat expensive alcohol.

Kyouko tells herself not to worry about it, particularly her not receiving a White Day gift. But she apparently gets the impression Kimiko might be the girl Ren is interested in. While thinking this, Kyouko's shoulders slump.
Someone asks Kyouko if she's listening; Kyouko, of course, protests that she is. She's told that there's no problem, then. She's told that they'll start right away. Chidori is to be "on that side," while Momiji is "on this side." They're supposed to do rock-paper-scissors, and whoever wins goes first. Kyouko's shocked. She hadn't be listening, so she doesn't understand what she's supposed to do. She thinks that if she loses, then she can watch and devise a plan. Unfortunately, Kyouko does scissors to Kimiko's paper, so Kyouko will go first. End of chapter.
