Debian下安装fcitx的方法：
先设置locale
su -c "dpkg-reconfigure locales"
Then select zh_CN.UTF8， 如果要使用英文界面，则把en_US.UTF8设置成默认的。
在Debian Stretch下,如果是只有fcitx的话，已经不需要如下配置了，直接从Synaptic查找安装fcitx即可, 但是得确认im-config和fcitx-ui-classic已选中并即将安装(通常会自动安装im-config，但是为确保能使用，最好还是查看一下) 之后会在System->Preferences->Other中找到Input Method菜单项，启动该项，选择fcitx，然后重启X即可(不必重启电脑的，除非受Windows影响深重，非得想重启)。重启了X后，应该能在桌面的Notification Area中看到fcitx图标，点击该图标，再选择Configure->Input Method, 选中“+”号，再在"Add input method"窗口中把"Only Show Current Language"的勾去掉，并在Search Input Method中输入Sunpinyin， 点击OK，之后应该就可以通过Ctrl+空格来启动输入法了。
当然，也可以用命令行进行安装：
su -c "apt install fcitx fcitx-config-gtk fcitx-config-gtk2 fcitx-frontend-gtk2 fcitx-frontend-gtk3 fcitx-frontend-qt4 fcitx-googlepinyin fcitx-module-cloudpinyin fcitx-sunpinyin fcitx-table-wubi fcitx-table-wubi-large fcitx-tools fcitx-ui-classic fcitx-ui-light im-config"
