The act who will represent the United Kingdom at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest has been determined.
The former X Factor finalist bested other contenders Danyl Johnson, Nate Simpson, Holly Brewer, Olivia Garcia and Salena Mastroianni on tonight's Eurovision: You Decide, which aired on BBC Two. Broadcast live from the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London, the show was presented by Mel Giedroyc, who also provides coverage for the UK during the semi-finals.
Lucy was chosen when the viewers' votes were combined with that of the industry panel, made up of vocal coach CeCe Sammy, Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli, and pop starlet Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Tonight's Eurovision: You Decide, which will soon be available on BBC iPlayer, also featured performances from 2009 Eurovision champion Alexander Rybak, and boyband The Vamps.
This year's lucky representative will be looking to fare much better than 2016's UK entry Joe and Jake; despite a 12 points from the Maltese jury, the twosome finished 24th out of 26 contestants.
The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest hails from Kyiv, Ukraine in May following the 2016 victory of Ukranian singer Jamala. Semi-finals will be broadcast on BBC Four on May 9 and 11, with the grand final airing on May 13 on BBC One.
