Distinguished judge, fellow teammate, and the opposing team. Today the resolution is countries has an obligations to accept refugees fleeing from war zones. We as the con side of the debate firmly disagree with the resolution and believe it shall fall.
To start we would like to clarify our definitions. We would like to define countries in this case, as a country that is capable of accepting refugees; we would like to define obligation as a legal obligation; we would like to define accept as to give one a permanent residence and refugees from war zone as a person is under life-danger in a particular area an armed conflict is on-going. Our framework today is countries can act whatever it want on refugee issue, and possess the freedom of their own choice on the refugee issue. So if we managed to prove that, we as the Con team will win the argument on this debate.
Contention 1——Not obligation
Sub Point A:It is not a country’s moral obligation to accept refugees. Take Britain as an perfect example. Britain lead the world in almost everything, culture, economy, global political status, etc. And now Britain ask to leave the EU partly because of British did not want people crowding in their home, which here mean refugee. Britain has proved throughout it’s own actions that a countries’ right to refuse refugees is owned by the country itself. First, economically it will let young man lose their jobs. In Britain, approximately 41% of the citizens are between 25~54 in 2015, and with refugee coming in, people will start to lose their jobs and the citizen won’t be able to protect their family and theirselves. It is not a good thing to happen. Especially when citizens submit taxes and ask the government to protect them, we are letting citizens from other country taking our spots. That is not very sensible, neither for the government nor for the citizens.

Our team has 3 reasons why the con side shall win this debate.
Firstly, we do not have an obligation to help refugees, so we don’t have an obligation to accept them either. Also, governments should care for their citizens first, because they pay the taxes to let government help them, but refugees don’t. Finally, there will be president changes, so the new president may not like refugees, so the president might make refugees suffer. These reasons all firmly relate to our framework, which is that countries can act whatever it want on refugee issue, and possess the freedom of their own choice on the refugee issue. We believe that our points are correct and that we have proven that our framework is correct.

We as the con team has already proven our framework which is countries can act whatever it want on refugee issue, and possess the freedom of their own choice on it. We did it by proving how Britain refuses to accept refugees which is ordered by EU and leave the EU. Even if they are capable of accepting refugees, they refused to do so. According to reliable source, with refugees coming in, people could lose their jobs and become, in some sense, a refugee. That is not what tax is for, that is not what people kind of pay for. So, in short, they can do it, but they don’t have the moral obligation. Of course we agree today the world is globalized, but that doesn’t equal to an obligation for everyone to help each other. Also, as the culture of the refugees and citizens are not the same, a specific education should be produced and it costs money, which is the taxes. That is not fair, for the British citizens, to spend their money and buy back a terrible economic system and find theirselves unemployed. And all these things are something a country itself shall decide not the international groups.
Also, as the opponent mentioned about we cannot stop refugees from coming but according to the Immigration Law, if you came without a visa, you will not be able to stay, but they can send it to the other country that is willing to. I believe we as the Con team shall win the arguments of this debate.
