Miyazaki stated in an interview before that the text is originally written in Japanese and later translated to English (with the voice recordings coming last), and the translation company itself says the exact same thing (「宮崎さんによる日本語のセリフ原案を元にした英語の脚本の制作」="(We) make the English script based on Miyazaki-san's Japanese lines."）. So yeah: If the English text contradicts something in the Japanese text, it's almost definitely wrong. If the English text has nuances the Japanese text doesn't, those nuances are probably wrong.
