The Thunderbolts #1 Variant Cover is by Chris Stevens. Pasqual Ferry supplies the Variant Cover for Uncanny Inhumans #8. Though 23 variant covers are planned for Apocalypse Wars, this is not a company-wide crossover event, the story will be limited to Uncanny X-Men, Extraordinary X-Men and All-New X-Men. The Thunderbolt team members on the variant cover are Winter Soldier, Moonstone/Meteorite and Mach VII.
Marvel's Apocalypse Wars kicks off in May and will ship 23 variant covers to comic book retailers. This month, Marvel has release 7 of the 23 variant covers for preview. Apocalypse Wars will be limited to the 3 X-Men titles from Marvel. Editor Daniel Ketchum stated, "In the same vein as the classic event Fall of the Mutants, Apocalypse Wars is a thematic crossover that sees each of the three X-Men titles telling an Apocalypse-centric story organic to its own mission statement. Because it’s not a single tightly-knit storyline, each creative team has the breathing room to tell their unique version of an Apocalypse story that will have lasting consequences for their cast of X-Men."
