It's no contest when it comes to the No.1 album for Christmas 2015 - 25 powers to an emphatic fifth straight week at the summit for Adele, with sales in the seven days before Christmas rising to a massive 449,870, the highest ever sale recorded by an album on its fifth week on release, easily surpassing the previous mark of 365,208 set by Robbie Williams' Swing When You're Winning in 2001.
After smashing the record for fastest 2m sales last Saturday (19th) 25 has raced to an equally unprecedented 35 day tally of
2,420,117 sales, made up of
2,002,869 CDs,
396,529 downloads and
20,719 vinyl albums.
