#1 .颤动粘液(quivering blob)
这些巨大的变形虫生物看起来只是像一堆粘液，不过它们却可以靠着食用金属或木头来生存和运动，偶尔来地牢探险的冒险家们也会成为它们的加餐。

这是在但丁『神曲』地狱篇中提及的镌刻在地狱大门上的一首诗，相信听过最后一句“入此门者当放弃一切希望”的朋友不少吧。我初识最后那句Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate是在一款日本游戏遥仰凰华上看见的。
觉得也许入地狱者，便将承接无尽的业火焚烧，到那算清罪孽之时，也许便是最终审判之日。

#5.1祭坛(Altars)
祭坛有三种类别：
1.在寺庙里。它们是用来祭祀的[...]。石头的顶部雕有血槽,整个祭坛都被干涸的灰褐色的血迹所覆盖，那是以前的祭品留下的痕迹。

NetHack选取的这篇Horatius第一首讲的是三位罗马勇士Publius Horatius ， Spurius Lartius 和Titus Herminius, 在与Etruscan人的战争中甘愿为国献身以防止敌军过桥（Sublician bridge），他们过桥接近敌人后罗马人立即开始破坏桥梁，他们其中的Horatius吟唱了这首悲壮的诗歌。幸运的是他们最终都活了下来。

#6.药水(potion)
可饮用品(potable)，名词。适合饮用的事物。水被认为是可饮用品;事实上，一些人宣称是我们的天然饮料，人们只在承受干渴的失调感时才会发现它的美味，它像一种治疗干渴的药物。
在任何国家的任何时期都没有什么像它这样美好和独特的事物，只有最不文明的地方才有水的替代品。对那种液体目前在族内没有形成本能的厌恶是不科学的--虽然我们作为蛇和蟾蜍并没有科学这东西。
