The new Association
With your support CIMA and the AICPA are proposing to create the world’s most respected and influential accounting association, as well as the largest membership body for accountants. We will do this by integrating strategy, management and operations.
Your membership of CIMA would remain unchanged, and your designation of FCMA or ACMA would continue alongside CGMA. CIMA’s and AICPA’s respective Councils would remain and CIMA would continue to ensure that we meet our obligations under the Royal Charter.
However, as well as remaining a member of CIMA, you would also be a member of the new Association, which would operate on a larger scale and represent over 600,000 current and next-generation professionals.
We are confident the new Association accelerates CIMA’s strategy, and is the most effective way to support you as members by giving you access to greater research, resources, services and advocacy. With the larger and more global body behind you, our members will be supported by even greater recognition and employability. Equally, the Association will benefit management accountancy, raising the profession’s profile in countries where CIMA has traditionally been strongest, as well as in the US and beyond.
