KATHMANDU: Nepal has turned to the UN over alleged obstruction of a key border trade point with India that has resulted in acute shortage of essential goods as it appealed to the international community to ensure that landlocked countries’ freedom of transit is not curtailed.
尼泊尔向联合国求助，称印度封锁关键的边界贸易点，导致尼泊尔必需品短缺。尼泊尔呼吁国际社会确保内陆国家的运输自由不受剥夺。
Deputy prime minister Prakash Man Singh, who led Nepal’s delegation to the UN general assembly, held talks with UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon during which the issue of “India’s blockade” on the border also figured, sources close to Singh told PTI.
尼泊尔副总理Prakash Man Singh与联合国秘书长潘基文举行会谈。消息人士对印度报业托拉斯说，期间印度的禁运问题也被拿来讨论。
Ban expressed his concern over the obstruction of essential supplies and the difficulties resulting from it, they said.
