"Somebody sent it [the script] to me, and they said, 'You know, Antoine Fuqua who directed <<Training Day>> and <<The Equalizer>> is directing this movie, and he's a big fan of boxing. He's been boxing all of his life and he wants to make this movie and it's really important to him'. And I read the script, thinking about how Antoine's made movies with his vision, and I just thought, 'Wow, it'd be perfect to do it,' and then he asked me to do it and that was that."
Jake 谈到他爱哭："I have this tendency to cry on planes in general, I don't know what it is. It's the altitude. I covered my head with a towel, I was doing everything I couid."

A：You know Jane， actually I was saying， only because I feel like， you know， there're movies that I don't think turned out that way I wanna them to turn out， but I've very little control of that because I'm not the director and you know I didn't write the script，but I'm trying to do everything I can to make them work best I can。I take responsibility for my performances definitely，but in terms of movies every singles one of them is less and so what if they are good or bad， they people like them ro they don't，that's less interesting to me than the lesson I've learned from them。
