While shooting our film 'Everest,' I had the honor of meeting some incredible human beings from Nepal. Kind, generous, selfless people. Their country is experiencing unfathomable tragedy. Everest Productions Ltd (producers of the 2015 feature film Everest filmed in part in Nepal last year), is raising funds for the relief effort following the devastating earthquake.
Our aid is needed in the short-term to provide medicine, water, shelter, food, and the transportation means to reach those communities who have been cut off. Then longer term assistance to help these communities to slowly rebuild.
The three charities we have chosen to support are DEC, The Himalayan Trust and The Juniper Trust.
The DEC is set up to respond directly to catastrophes such as the earthquake in Nepal, and has many charities under its umbrella. It is therefore able to provide immediate assistance on a large scale.
The Himalayan Trust is working directly with individuals providing short-term localised and practical support to those affected by the earthquake.
The Juniper Trust is working to provide long term support ensuring that their projects in Nepal continue to provide healthcare and education, and emergency relief to those most in need.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected and to all those who showed such generosity to us during our time in Nepal.
