TEXAS star Sharleen Spiteri has revealed that the "dulcet tones" of Alan Rickman will appear on the opening track of Texas' forth-coming album, 15 years after the band featured the Hollywood actor in their video for In Demand.
HE may be best known for playing big screen baddies but Sharleen Spiteri knew Alan Rickman would be the hero when she turned to him for help…
Not that she gave her old Hollywood pal much option.
Sharleen has revealed how she ordered Rickman into the studio to sing on Texas’ next single – 15 years after they featured together on the video for the band’s In Demand.
Now, the Die Hard actor’s voice will be heard on Start A Family, the opening track on her multi-million selling Glasgow group’s forthcoming new album, Texas 25.
It features reworked versions of hits spanning their career as well as three new songs.
And Sharleen, 47, is thrilled that Rickman, 68, agreed to contribute. She said: “We’re celebrating 25 years. What’s not to like about that? We had done a version of Start A Family and thought it would be interesting to do something a bit different.
“That’s when I called and asked Alan if he’d like to do a bit of singing, which he laughed hysterically at.
“He went, ‘Really?’ I went, ‘Really, Alan, we need your dulcet tones, so get your his a**e down here’.
