Stars including Patrick Cox, Mica Paris, Lemar, Javine, Myleene Klass and an assortment of ex-Big Brother contestants launched the prestigious Mobo Awards. BB Winner Anthony spent most of the night hovering by the bar with stunner Orlaith, while Kemal floated around the room with a mystery girl pal, air-kissing everyone in sight. But soul sensation Lemar was the man of the night, celebrating his massive five nominations, including one for UK Act Of The Year against Joss Stone. His other nominations are Best Album for Time To Grow, Best Single for If There's Any Justice, Best Video and Best R&B. Lemar told us: "I hope I win! I'll have to win something - if I win one that will be great. I'm glad I've been recognised in all these categories." The party was hosted by T4 presenter June Sarpong, who looked tiny in a sexy black dress. We also caught up with rising hip-hop star Sway, who performed a witty track complaining about illegal music downloading. He told us: "Everybody does it, even my little brother. I don't think we can stop them, but the music industry needs to get up-to-date with online music sales. One day people won't even have to leave their sofa - you can get everything on the internet." Sway went on to talk about respected rapper Eminem dropping out of his tour. "He's tired man, but he'll be back", he said. He added: "It always seems to be the UK that gets cancelled - he wouldn't have cancelled his American gig. When I'm a big star playing in the US I'll take revenge - I'll do something wild there!" The 10th Mobo Awards, to be held at London's Royal Albert Hall on September 22, will feature performances from US chart topper John Legend, MsDynamite, Damian Marley, son of Bob Marley and of course Lemar. Mariah Carey and Snoop Dogg, who are each up for two prizes, didn't show up for the launch party - but organisers hope they will attend the anniversary night next month. There are also nominations for rapper Kano, Sean Paul, Jamiroquai, Missy Elliott and Estelle. And there will be a special Mobo tribute to soul legend Luther Vandross, who died in July. (The Sun)Mariah has been nominated for Best Album and Best R&B Act.
