David Gandy is a man who personifies this statement. He is the man you notice upon first entering a room. It is not because he calls attention to himself through boisterous outbursts or self indulgent posturing. He is the man you notice because he is always stylish and impeccably dressed. A gentleman of the first order.
Wearing Thom Sweeney at both the Macallan Masters of Photography: Mario Testino Edition and the opening of the new Thom Sweeney RTW & MTM Store, David demonstrates his wonderful sense of personal style. You may recognize the grey double-breasted suit David wore to the Thom Sweeney opening as the very same one he gave us a glimpse of during the tailoring process (see picture no. 3). We loved both choices, and think David makes every suit he wears memorable.

David Gandy may be the most debonair man in the world. Which is why @marksandspencer (hair: @king_larryking) chose him to showcase their winter formalwear collection, Magic and Sparkle. This wonderful series of photos harkens back to an era when men dressed for events with style and elegance. You may remember that David wore the navy and forest green tartan suit (shown at the top) to the @scotfashawards earlier this year. With his choice of the subtly patterning suit, he once again proved that you can think outside the box and still look fabulous. Whether it’s a new fabric choice or classic black formalwear, the holiday season has never looked better.

#TBT - David Gandy - FreeSoul Campaign 2009/10 - The first picture chosen for this throwback photoset has to be, in our humble opinion, one of the most breathtaking photos ever taken of David. Not only because it’s David, but because of the pure sensuality and longing it leaves one with after viewing it. Take a few moments and explore how the camera has captured the beautiful line of his neck, the proud Romanesque features caught in stunning profile, his eyes shuttered and closed as if thinking of a private place in his mind where his soul is free. FlashbackFriday David Gandy-July 2012 @AugustManMY (AugustMan Malaysia) ph: @MrChunkyExpress December may be just around the corner, but we’re throwing it back to the glory days of the summer of 2012. Limiting this throwback to ten photos was a monumental undertaking for us. Photographed by Chiun-Kai Shih, David looks absolutely incredible whether it’s wet, dry, in black and white or in color. While several variations of the cover were released, for this post we’ve chosen one of our favorites to share. A version which we feel shows off David’s startlingly blue eyes to perfection. We’ve also included the link to a behind the scenes video, which gives you a glimpse into a shoot that produced more than a few splendid pictures.

Photo: @DeanIsidroThis beautiful 2012 shoot by Dean Isidro for El Libro Amarillo for El Palacio de Hierro features a few of our favorite photos from the throwback collection. If you were writing a novel, these pictures would definitely offer some fabulous inspiration for your leading man. Getting into character, David conveys a slightly brooding, charming, commanding man, who can seduce with just one glance from his pure blue eyes. Sitting astride a motorcycle in two if the photos, David is hard to resist. The photo of David sitting with one hip on the table, beckoning you to join him for a morning coffee, can make anyone’s heart skip a beat. Maybe your favorite is the photo of David, casually leaning against the side of a car, as if waiting to take you for a drive. Our favorite has to be the fantastic shot of David, shirt open, gazing intensely back over his shoulder. Whichever photo is your favorite, we know you’ll enjoy revisiting this grouping.

The league of extraordinary gentleman. In their Autumn/Winter edition (Issue No. 22) the editors of TLMag chose 15 men from various walks of life and creative professions whom they believe embody the qualities of the contemporary gentleman. It is no surprise that David Gandy made their list or that he is on the cover. Photographed by Martina Bjorn, David gives us a perfect vision of the gentleman after an evening on the town. In two of the photos, we see David wearing a crisp white shirt open at the collar, his black Henry Poole bow tie undone as if getting ready for a soothing night cap. In our favorite photo from the grouping, David appears to be very deep in conversation with his little friend, who has somehow obtained his bow tie, while David’s shirt appears somewhat torn at the cuff. Perhaps, their conversation went something like this: David: “Yes Alfie, I’m aware my sleeve is torn, and before you say it, no, it didn’t happen while I was flexing my muscles. By the way mate, your bow tie is crooked.” Alfie: “Thank you, DG, it’s ruff being this cute.” We admire David for many reasons, but his sense of humor and ability to not take himself too seriously is one of his most endearing qualities.

LOVE - the one word on the cover photo of David for Out Magazine - defines our feelings for this shoot. In this photoset, David looks ravishing, relaxed and retro cool, the embodiment of the California way of life. Working with photographer Blair Getz Mezibov, David shines like the warm Cali sun while photographed on location in a glamorous Palm Springs cliff-side home (see if you can spot the white cockatoo). Poolside David wears swim trunks by Tommy Hilfiger and pajamas by Topman while lounging in the spacious living room.
