The Living World returns with today*s patch bringing Season 2: Episode 5, Echoes of the Past.
Echoes of the Past launches today in Guild Wars 2 as the Living World returns after its mid-Season 2 break. The episode picks up from the cliff-hanger ending that saw players attending the World Summit which was attacked by Mordrem forces. Players managed to would Mordremoth*s lieutenant, but not before it in turn wounded the Pale Tree. The attack spurred the world leaders into action, and with the players* help now prepare to take the war to Mordremoth.
In Echoes of the Past, players will join the Pact who have set up a staging area in the Silverwastes, a new area in the Maguuma Wastes closer to Mordremoth*s domain. Players will report in to Camp Resolve to observe the Pact efforts, but must be on guard as they will be entering enemy territory. Mysterious ruins cover the area and will provide key battleground locations in the ongoing war against Mordremoth*s expanding armies. Players will fight to hold strategic locations, call in Pact allies for aid and take a stand against the growing threat.
While fighting in the Silverwastes, players will accumulate new Bandit Crests that can be traded into Pact Vendors for Sinister gear recipes, crafting materials and more, including pieces of the brand-new Carapace armor set. The Carapace armor set is a new armor set for each weight class available exclusively through the Living World and Silverwastes content. In Episode 5, players will be able to collect the shoulders with new pieces of the set released in subsequent episodes. Then over time as players prove their mastery over the Silverwastes, they will find ways to upgrade Carapace armor into the new Luminescent armor set.
