为盐肤木属的一种落叶灌木或亚乔木，原产於北美洲。因其果穗呈砖红色且紧密聚生成火炬状，又名
火炬树、火炬漆。珠高约十公尺。

果实有酸味，成串的浆果在美国用以制作印度的柠檬水。
