it*s been a bizzy past few days. lots of writing and recording as usual but also taking in some of the amazing things los angeles has to offer. starting with the beautiful weather. i had a small backyard bbq/outdoor movie night with some good friends. food curtesy of the one and only dan moyse the ladies choice. it was great hanging out with some friends i haven*t seen in awhile. i spent some time going through some of old cassette tapes and and cd*s of old demos and songs that were never used. some good and some really bad. i was surprised, i have a lot more stuff than i thought and hopefully some day they can all be heard somehow. on thursday i went to go see kobe and the lakers play denver. court side seats behind the lakers bench doesn*t suck. after the game i went to the LA haunted hayride to see my buddy frank zummo. we watched the street drum corps blood drums which was badass. saturday afternoon i went to go see my good friend chris lord alge speak at a convention about recording and mixing equipment. he*s the guy that makes bands like green day, my chemical romance, us and many other bands sound awesome. the best night was going to see tom petty at the forum. i*ve seen him 3 times now and it*s always amazing. he played everything you would want to hear. running down a dream, don*t do my like that, refugee and don*t come around here no more. i could give you the whole setlist but all you have to do is look at the greatest hits track listing and that was basically it. the heartbreakers are such an amazing band, and you just can*t beat those songs. such great lyrics and melody. so simple but so powerful. it was an absolutely flawless show. i hung backstage after the show for a bit and i saw my good buddy todd morse back there. we talked to a couple of the heartbreakers and then split to go see a friend for his birthday at a party for steven slate at nrg studios. had a great time and got to bed by 5am. got a bit of sleep then was up early working on music. no need for sleep! i*m a hyper-insomnia-para-condriod anyway. i also would like to take the time to thank some people. thank you to sum41italia and lula whibley, sum41_skumfuks, and all the fans for all the gifts, letters and support. it really means a lot to me. it*s been really tough not being able to do what i do, but at the end of the day i did it to myself and now i*m building back up and getting better and better. some days are great and some days are bad but so far so good! thanks to everyone for all of your patience and support.deryck whibley
