On getting through to the lives: *It*s so surreal, I can hardly believe it. I was in floods of tears even before I got to see Cheryl. All the other girls had been through and I was just sitting on my own, getting more and more worked up. I was convinced it was a *no*.*
On the pre-lives makeovers: *I*m really looking forward to them. I reckon my hair could do with a bit of new colour and a bit of styling. I*m always going to be the girl in trainers and comfy clothes rather than dresses, but it*ll be good to see what we can do there.*

On getting a *yes*: *It felt amazing, but at the same time I felt sad for the other girls. I knew that would happen obviously, but the reality is different. I feel a bit numb. I*m really, really grateful. I*m really shocked somebody could believe in me that much.*
On dividing opinion: *I said to Cheryl I*m just a normal girl and it*s really rude of people to think I*m not worth voting for just because of the way I speak. If I was from Essex, what would people say?*

On looking forward to the lives: *I*m looking forward to the performances. Getting out there and singing in front of ten million people! That sounds insane. I*ll have nerves but if I didn*t, that would be really strange.*
On the reaction when she phoned home: *I*ve never heard people going so bonkers. My mum and dad were there, my little brother, grandparents, some close friends. I didn*t know they would all be there together. It could have been awkward if I*d not gone through! But it was great.*
On the pre-lives makeovers: *I*ve been dyeing my hair every colour of the rainbow since I was about ten years old. I*d do whatever they wanted me to, within reason! Maybe not shaving my head..*

Dream purchase: *I would buy a car, maybe. I*m not very good at driving so just a small one, to start with.*
On his biggest rivals: *I*m just thinking about the singers who are really good. I really like Paul, I love his style and I think he*s an amazing soul singer. I wouldn*t call him a rival but I think he*s very good.*
On the pre-lives makeovers: *I*m looking forward to them. I think it*s a very fun side of this job. Obviously you have to be focused on singing but that is a very fun side and I love choosing outfits..*

On his mum*s reaction: *Oh, God she was delighted. She*d been having kittens all day, waiting. She was like, *Jacob, I*m so proud*. She was really happy. I haven*t seen her happy like that for ages. I didn*t want to make her cry, I wanted to make her happy.*
On looking ahead to the lives: *I haven*t got a big Whitney Houston voice but what I have got is a tone that I can use. I just hope people get behind me.*

On celebrating getting through to the lives: *I*d already planned to have a meal with family and friends if it was a *no*. And now that it*s a *yes*, it*s going to be A MEAL! And a few drinks.*
On looking ahead to the live shows: *All the way through, I*ve shown I*m an old-school soul singer. But to survive in the music industry, you have to show you can put that voice onto a modern track so I want to show I can do modern things. And show that I will last a long time.*

On looking ahead to the lives: *I think we*re most looking forward to showing people what we*re about – bringing a twist to the show hopefully.*

On looking forward to the live shows: *We*re looking forward to experimenting. There are so many things we can do between us in the group, from playing the piano and guitar to rapping.*

Trivia:This sister-act want to bring the crazy to The X Factor
On the pre-lives makeover: *Bring it on! We have so many ideas for the makeovers. We love dressing up. We love crazy outfits. The crazier the better. There is going to be a lot of neon, glitter and hairspray and a lot of craziness. We*re going to bring crazy to The X Factor.*
On looking ahead to the lives: *We want to freak out Simon! We want him to fall out of his chair! We want him to get a panic attack live on television. If we can accomplish that will be a job well done.*

On getting through to lives: *I can*t believe it. I wasn*t happy with my performance and everyone else was so good. To be the last one to be sent through, as well. It felt like I was waiting for a year.*
On the pre-lives makeovers: *I*m excited about it. I*m not sure I want highlights or blue ends but I*m definitely willing to have a bit of a trim. I*ve never been styled, I*ve never had that before.*
