"Cheer for the Kalmyk skater Adya Pitkeeva" - video with this wording recently traveled around all Kalmyk groups in social networks. Someone surprised that among the Kalmyks have skater and someone just rejoice in the success of the young Adya. But the fact that the story of the boy and his family was of interest to all without exception - it is a fact. We caught up with her father Adya - Yuri Pitkeevym and that*s what he told us.
- Yuri, in Kalmykia when meeting decided to ask about the "roots." Tell us where you were born, grew up and studied?
- My father, Valery Pitkeev - Kalmyk, a retired military man, Colonel, PhD. Like many Kalmyks of the generation born in Siberia. When served in Kazakhstan, in Priozersk, met and fell in love with a beautiful Russian girl Elena, my mom. That*s where I was born in 1976. Like all military family, we moved often. After Kazakhstan lived in Minsk and Kharkov, well and in 1980 his father was transferred to Moscow, where I spent my childhood and adolescence.

My uncle - Viktor Pitkeev - Honored Artist of Kalmykia, aunt - Lyubov Indzhieva - honored teacher of Kalmykia, if enumerate all the relatives, then we have collected more than one hundred only in Elista, not counting all of Kalmykia and Astrakhan region (my father with those places).
-Why Adya? In honor of someone so named?
- My parents had a close friend Adya Nimeevich Dyugeev - MD. Very intelligent, highly educated, kind and sympathetic person. Adya Nimeevich was the "godfather" a father to my brother and often came to visit us. That*s in honor of him and I called her son.
- Have you ever been in Kalmykia now?
- Before, I often went to Elista to grandparents also live there, my uncle, aunt, and a large number of brothers and sisters (and cousins three times removed). A couple of times was in Tsagaan-Ahman Aunt. But, unfortunately, after the funeral of grandparents trip ended. Adya, when I was little, he often visited Elista and Tsagaan-Aman with my father. Now, because of the high employment, a trip to Kalmykia became less frequent, but as soon as free time, he is sure to grandparents will go to the land of their ancestors. By the way, my dad loves to be in Kalmykia. Twice a year he would visit his small home.
