I think there was an article on here about how health care workers need assistance in interacting with the local cultures. It is unfortunate and it makes the situation that much more worse.

Shocking amount of healthcare workers among the dead, almost 10%. Hope this doesn*t demoralize remaining healthcare workers, or worse. They are very much risking their lives.

They will run out of healthcare workers willing to risk their lives to treat other who will die anyway. This disease is going to kill millions...it is unprecedented; if the best medical expert got infected imagine the rest who don’t even know how to apply a simple mask!
This happens because i could see that their isolation methods were broken by negligent poorly trained workers. They used to take sick people and bodies dragging material from the stretchers on the floor... By now the EBOLA VIRUS had gained strength against all treatments used...

I would be very afraid they ll run out of healthcare workers as well.
I think being a healthcare workers there could also be an unthankful job because 1) due to the high mortality rate and lack of a cure, it is mainly watching people die without being able to intervene and 2) reports of distrust of medical personnel in these countries.

I was thinking the same thing. Who would want to work under such circumstances. And there definitely is a lack of sanitation and organization, so working among those patients increases the risk 10 fold

Recently several aid workers and doctors have died from the disease after using full protective gear. There is speculation that the health professionals were sloppy. However, this is only speculation, and there is no proof that these highly trained deceased doctors were at fault. Also the issue of airborne droplets as a mode of transmission is not being seriously addressed.

If we are busy in killing innocent civilians in Gaza and Ukraine how could we stop the spread of Ebola virus. Forget it........ Nobody cares about Africa!!!

I don*t think their cultural and ritual burials are the main reason for this virus. They have been practising these rituals for eons. I won*t be surprised if hygiene is a huge factor considering they bathe, wash laundry, excrete and so on in their fresh water and then use it for drinking and cooking. Either this virus is a result of many unsanitary factors combined, or this is a created virus which was released and is now adapting to it*s environment。
Either way, the only way to get rid of it is containing the infected, and burning the corpses. I personally think shipping infected people out of the area is a very bad idea. Human error will have catastrophic consequences.
