标题：Some Thoughts on Daryl Dixon

I felt the need to write this because I have seen some posts in the tags for that other ship that I find very frustrating. Daryl is my favorite character, and there are quite a few people from that other ship who simply don’t understand him.

(This is mostly about Daryl but I tagged this Bethyl because I talk about them towards the end.)

Some people believe that Daryl was an asshole, and Carol just changed him/brought out his good side. No.
Daryl was always really, really good. He just kept that part of his personality hidden because Merle always made fun of him for it. We see evidence of this in season 3 when Daryl helps those Spanish tourists with the baby.
Daryl wanted to find Sophia because she was a little girl in danger, not because he was in love with Carol. He barely knew her at that point.

he can’t bear it when any woman cries. Remember in Still when he suddenly took charge of the alcohol-finding mission when Beth began crying in the country club? Same thing.

就是就是就是，认为达里尔是混蛋的人都没有认真看剧！如果达里尔是混蛋的话，他一出场就不会耗费那么多时间把那头鹿赶到营地，如果要喂饱他和哥哥，只要杀死鹿割一点肉就行了！哼！达里尔一出场就被设定成了外冷内热的暖男一枚。

我记得大神也有一篇专门分析达里尔吐槽的文，有空再去找来看看。我也很喜欢看达里尔吐槽别人，吐槽戴尔是金色池塘里的，吐槽罗莉是奥利弗，吐槽罗莉肚里的宝宝是“小肖恩”，吐槽米尔顿是秘书，还有著名的“整得像爱情小说一样”。真是很有意思。让人惊讶的是，这样一个爷们儿，他居然还知道罗彻基玫瑰的典故，他是上的夜校吧？哈哈哈哈。这个角色实在是塑造地成功极了，大概没人会不喜欢吧。

完全分析的很正确和理性，太赞同了，这就是为什么CD没走在一起，因为根本没有发生爱情。

找索菲亚也能和卡罗尔扯上关系，那时候他俩根本不熟好吧，弩哥还骂平头是“stupid bitch",我去，CD这样也能觉得弩哥爱卡罗尔？真重口啊。

卤煮发烧多喝热开水，用冷毛巾敷额头，最主要是躺在床上睡一觉起来就好了！感谢卤煮带病为bd党谋福利！^_^

The thing is, Carol understood this immediately.
Not once did she see Daryl’s actions as indicative of any kind of romantic interest on his part.When she brought him some food when he was recovering from that fall in Hershel’s home, she thanks him for doing “more for [her] little girl than her own daddy ever did.” And she tells him he is every bit as good as Shane and Rick. Carol is telling him this because everything he is doing is selfless, and she knows that he is doing it because he is a good man who wants to help people in need, especially children. (Remember when he was so determined to get Judith food because he couldn’t bear to lose anyone else, especially the newborn baby girl? Same thing!) She knows that it’s not about her, that it’s just Daryl being his true, kind-hearted self!

This is not to discount Daryl and Carol’s bond. It is a very important relationship, and a deep one. Carol was the first person to appreciate and respect Daryl the way he needs to be appreciated. Daryl really cares about Carol, she is important to him for that reason. They have a very strong friendship.
But nothing he has done indicates that he loves her romantically.

In fact, there is evidence to the contrary. The banter between Daryl and Carol in 3x01 and 4x01 make it abundantly clear that the relationship is not romantic.

只有小沫沫还在更贴，吧里稍微有点安静啊！沫沫最给力，究竟沫沫是男是女还是没分清！那片达里尔的成长真不打算翻了啊？我

Second, the reason Carol proceeded to make a joke was NOT because she was flirting with him (who flirts like that?), but because she saw that he became uncomfortable, and she decided to tease him to make things less awkward.
He doesn’t like her that way, but she doesn’t like him that way, either. Her little joke was her way of making that clear. Then we see her teasing him again, in the same manner, in 4x01, and Daryl’s reactions are exactly the same. It still makes him uncomfortable, which is why he keeps telling her to, “stop,” but now it is more of an inside joke.
