In this movie, you act opposite yourself. How do you rank as a scene partner compared to some of the the actors you’ve worked with in the past? 【在这部电影里，你和自己对戏。作为搭档来说，你觉得自己和之前合作过的演员相比，能排到第几位？】
Acting with yourself is a very humbling experience, in that I like to work with actors who are more talented than me because they bring out the best in you and make you better. And that’s just not the case in this situation. I was constantly meeting my own limitations with myself. I wasn’t like, ”Oh wow, Jake, way to go! Great work! Keep going in that direction!” I was constantly thinking that I hope I don’t make other actors feels this way. 【和自己对戏会让人变得谦虚，因为我喜欢和比我有才华的演员合作，他们总是能激发出我最好的一面，让我进步。但和自己对戏就完全不是这么回事。我总会发现自己的局限性。我不会说什么“哇，杰克,加油！干的不错！保持下去！”我总是想，希望自己没有让其他演员有这种感觉。】

What was the biggest challenge of playing two characters in the same film, sometimes appearing in scenes together? 【一人分饰两角最大的挑战是什么？尤其是有时两个角色会同时出现？】
It was very technical, which I enjoyed. It was really fun. There were no rules. We made the film in a very boundary-less and creatively indulgent kind of way where we would roll a 20-minute take, and sometimes they work and sometimes they wouldn’t. The whole process was an exploration, and I think the movie feels like more of an experience than it does a movie. 【这是非常考技巧的，所以我很喜欢。真的很有意思。没什么规则可循。拍这部电影完全没什么限制，甚至可以说是随心所意；我们会一个镜头拍20分钟，这样拍出的东西有时能用，有时不能。整个拍摄过程就是一场探险，我觉得这部电影更像是一种体验，而非一部电影。】

nce you leave a movie, do you ever find that the characters you’ve played resurface in terms of mannerisms or mood? 【电影拍完之后，你的行为或情绪会受之前扮演过的角色影响吗？】
Definitely. It takes a long time to shake characters you’ve played, particularly if you love them, you don’t really want to let them go. Inevitably, I think that each character I’ve played has kind of evolved into the next one. Like the choices I’ve made kind of move into the next character I’m playing. 【那当然会。摆脱之前角色的影响要花很长时间，尤其是你喜欢的角色，你不会真的舍得要他们离开。我觉得不可避免的是，每一个我演过的角色都会有一部分被带到下一个中去。就像是我之前做过的选择有些会转移到我下一个饰演的角色中去一样。】

Maybe I’m leaping too far here, but it seems like there is a palpable loneliness to both Loki and Adam. Jake, are you feeling lonely these days? 【可能我有点扯远了，但是好像洛基和亚当都有种很明显的孤独感。杰克，这些年来你觉得孤独吗？】
Well, who isn’t? There are parts of me that are like my characters, but the irony I guess is that I feel definitely like I’m surrounded by love and surrounded by wonderful, wise, consciously loving people. Maybe that gives me the opportunity to venture into worlds and play characters who don’t always have that. But that ’s all not to say that I don’t get lonely. 【嗯，谁不会呢？有部分的我和我的角色是一样的；但讽刺的是，我觉得自己被爱包围着，被各种优秀、智慧、关爱他人的人所包围。也许这给了我底气，让我敢于冒险，演绎那些并非一直这么幸运的角色。但这并不能说明我就不会感到孤独。】

You agreed to be Tasered while prepping for End of Watch, you lost 20 pounds for the upcoming film Nightcrawler. What is the most insane physical preparation you’ve done for a role? 【在准备《警戒结束》的时候，你同意被电击；现在你又为了下一部电影《夜行者》减重20磅。你为准备角色做过的最疯狂的事是什么？】
I don’t think it’s happened yet. For Nightcrawler, that was a very interesting character and a world in which he lived. The preparation physically and internally, even the shooting schedule, which was at night, was intense. I was up shooting and producing that movie all night every night. I was eating very little. Psychologically, that was a very interesting journey. For me, “hard” is not a word I equate with my job because I take it very seriously. At the end of the day, though, I always remind myself that I am just making a movie. If you do research into the real things that people do, like the police officers I shadowed before End of Watch, you realize that risking your life every day is not even close to what I do. 【我觉得最疯狂的还没发生过。《夜行者》里的角色和角色所在的世界都很有意思。准备工作包括身体和精神两方面，拍摄大多在晚上进行，行程非常紧张。我每晚都在整夜地拍摄电影。几乎不怎么吃饭。在心理上，这是段很有意思的经历。对我来说，工作不会和“艰苦”划上等号，因为我非常认真地对待它。尽管，每天结束后，我总会提醒自己我只是在拍电影而已。如果你有了解过人们平时在做的真实的事情，比如拍《警戒结束》之前我跟着的那些警官，你就会意识到自己的工作和无时无刻的生命危险根本扯不上边。】
