Merle + Daryl + Beth = Bethyl?
莫尔 + 达里尔 + 贝丝 = Bethyl？
So I was asked if I could do for Merle what I did for Zach in regards to his influence on Bethyl. It’s a whole different thing. In the end, yes, Merle did indirectly help Daryl and Beth bond; however, to get to that point, you need to REALLY dissect Merle and Daryl’s relationship, and that gets… messy. There’s a lot of Beth intertwined and parallels to draw. So to keep it tidy, I tried to break it into parts.
有人问我是不是可以像对扎克那样，分析一下莫尔对Bethyl的影响。这是件完全不同的事。但答案是可以。莫尔间接促成达里尔和贝丝，然而，要得出结论必须建立在真正剖析莫尔和达里尔关系后，但是……真的一团乱麻。有关贝丝的盘根错节，需要慢慢理清。为了条理清晰，我打算将这篇文切块处理。

When Daryl is out with Rick and Hershel to meet with the Governor, Merle decides to go take care of the matter himself, but the rest of the group objects.
达里尔跟瑞克和赫谢尔外出去见总督，而莫尔决定单干，但其他人都反对他。
Maggie: If you’re gonna live here with us, you’re gonna be on our terms. If Michonne can do it, why can’t you?
Merle: ‘Cause it’s my brother out there, that’s why! What’s a matter with you all?
Glenn: I’m not gonna let you put them in danger.
Merle: Nut up already, boy. … Git out of my way.
Glenn: No.
玛姬：你想要和我们住一起，就要守我们的规矩。如果米琼恩能做到，你怎么就不能。
莫尔：因为外面那是我弟弟，这就是原因！你们到底发什么病啊！
格伦：我不会让你置他们于危险中的。
莫尔：你少来这套……别挡我的路。
格伦：不。
As a physical fight breaks out with Merle and Glenn, Maggie and Michonne join in, trying to hold Merle at bay. It’s Beth, though, who comes running in to stop the insanity. She sees what’s happening, grabs a gun and fires a shot into the air. When they look at her, she’s giving them sternest “knock off this crap” look I’ve ever seen. The awesome part? She was successful. They all stop and dispersed, like Beth was the warden of Team Prison in that moment (new sheriff, just sayin‘). Doesn’t matter if Merle is a jerk. He’s Daryl’s brother. She did it to protect him just as much as she did it to protect Glenn. There was no reason for them all to turn on each other. Had it continued, it would have ended very badly for someone, and Beth wasn’t having that.
