Lion Sands Game Reserve
A truly extraordinary sighting last night! We were following the mating pair Scotia and Xovo. They both left the road listening intently as they went, the bush was thick and difficult to negotiate and we temporarily lost visual, then out of nowhere there was scuffle and the cries of hyena from a thicket. We managed to get through and what we discovered was amazing it appears that a 4m python had killed a duiker and was busy digesting when 2 hyena discovered the snake and killed it. They had disembowelled the snake and were feeding on the duiker when Xovo saw his chance and stole the large snake from right next to them.
