转汤上的评论和总结~
You know why “Intent” was such a beautiful episode (for us Darvey shippers, at least)?
It showed that Harvey cared, and not just about anyone, Donna.
We all know his motto as “Caring only makes you look weak.” Yes, he has cared about Mike and Jessica, providing drinks, comforting words, and caresses when needed. With Donna, all you see is playful banter and verbal assurance. Now, I don’t know about you, but in usual times when he is discreetly fighting for her, he never blatantly mentions it. We add the “this is for Donna” part in our own little imaginary minds.
But today’s episode, wow, I swear his emotional dam broke loose. And it wasAWESOME. He literally couldn’t keep it in.
Exhibit A: When trying to settle with Evan Smith, he straight up tells her “Icare about this woman.”
Exhibit B: When Mike confronts him why Harvey’s never bothered using Mike to get a win, he replies with “SHE’S different.” (sidebar: lol at mike’s face)
Exhibit C: When she’s freaking out, he reassures her, “Donna, the thought of you going to prison makes me want to drop on my knees.”
Exhibit D: When Mike asks if he really wants to obstruct justice, he immediately replies, “I don’t give a shit. This is Donna.”
Exhibit E: When looking for Joe, he tells him, “But now someone I care about is in trouble because you took a a payout.”
Exhibit F (my favorite one): When he shows Donna himself his own vulnerability, “Anyone else ever lose faith in me, doesn’t matter. With you, it’s different.”
And the cherry on the top of everything,
Exhibit G: "You know I love you, Donna."
Everything I have literally wished Harvey would say about his secretary came true in this episode, down to the point where he admitted he loved her. Like, did this episode really happen? Am I hallucinating? Did they write it according to my wishes and fantasies? Assure yourself, it did. They gave us everything we wanted. And now I think I’m going to have an aneurysm if I keep thinking about it.

最后两分钟汤上大神的分析~
Harvey admits something huge, that Donna means more to him than anyone else. And immediately he does what he does, he tries to run away. Every time things become too much, he pulls back instantly.
And Donna knows this, she knows him so well. So as he’s walking away, she smirks a little, because classic Harvey, say something mushy and walk away, so she stands up and pushes back, because she’s Donna and that’s what she does. She asks him “Why?”. Why is she so special? Why does she matter more?
And he does his “you know why” bullshit. And you can see that look on her face, what she expected, happened. He’s running away. He’s saying things, without saying them. He’s saying she means more to him, but not why. So she gives him this rueful smile and doesn’t say anything more. It’s classic Harvey, right?”
But then he pauses and he tells her why. “You know I love you.” And you know this is spontaneous. It’s spur of the moment. He almost lost Donna, and we know that Harvey can’t take that. This episode proved what lengths Harvey was willing to go to. This is Harvey ‘I won’t perjure myself’ Specter. He was willing to go all the way for this woman. Everyone knows how much he cares for her, because he shows it all the goddamn time, but for the first time he says it. And it shocks both them.
(It’s also so telling, because he doesn’t just say I love you, he says you know i love you. Because Donna knows, Donna always knows. But she also knows that Harvey wasn’t ready (or isn’t ready), so she doesn’t push. She waits.)
At the end of that scene, Donna just looks blown away. She’s actually speechless. And Harvey, god Harvey. As soon as he steps out of the apartment, you can see it actually hits him, what he said, what it means. It physically slaps him in the face. And instantly you know that this wasn’t a platonic I love you. This wasn’t Harvey just dropping something and trying to play it off later and nothing else. This was real. It happened. It meant something.

Comments from tumblr:
Okay so I’m thinking about the last Harvey/Donna scene and while if anyone contests Harvey/Donna having romantic feelings for each other, I’ll scoff at them because even the scene did have a romantic subtext but the character point of view on how it was presented while being said by the person in question and how it was known to be perceived can differ.
The thing that actually makes the romantic subtext obvious is not the “You know I love you, Donna”, but in light of the whole episode where he’s telling every random person passing by him that he cares about Donna and would do anything for her when he’s one to keep his walls up and being all “caring makes you weak”, break the law or even let murderers walk or even not risk her like he risks the other people he cares about(Mike, Louis, Jessica, Scottie), telling her that her problem is his problem and he’s flying off the handle at the thought of losing her much like in the beginning of season 2(when she was up for trial because she lied and buried evidence to protect him) and season 3 (when he had to deal with Stephen and her being in a relationship while working in the same place when she broke the rule she didn’t break for him back in the day) and emphasizing more than once that she’s different than everyone else for him, and again to her saying he can take anyone doubting him but not her.
The line could be passed off as nothing but Harvey and Donna’s bond being the most important to him because she’s his best friend, even as his secretary. But besides their history, it’s how Harvey reacts to it after he says it. There is a weight that settles into that moment when he’s at her apartment and he’s only ever been to her apartment twice before and never after they slept together. But today he is because she needed him but the weight of that moment makes him realize that if he stays, they’ll end up doing what they’ve avoided for years. They’ll break the limbo they’ve grown comfortable in being just friends, never crossing the line further that protects them. So he’s running away and he’s making his way out and Donna asks him “Why?”, stopping him to answer it before she leaves.
Why is she different than anybody else?
Why is he leaving?
Probably both, but mostly the first.
And he gives his bullshit answer “You know why”. It’s so loaded it could answer both the questions. But she looks at him still expectantly waiting for him to answer and he says nonchalantly almost “You know I love you, Donna” and she looks at him dumbstruck. Because what does it mean?
Is he telling her he loves her like she once tried to cover up telling him that she loves him by saying she does platonically and Louis messed with her head and made it hard to answer that question without it being taken another way, when she didn’t mean it? Is he telling her he loves her platonically? Or is he telling her he loves her more than that? And if he’s telling it either way, is he trying to cover it up as something he’ll brush off as nothing later or does he mean it the way she wants him to and nothing else?
All this was going through her head all at once, right there.
As for Harvey, I think he did mean it romantically but tried to brush it off as something platonic. Probably it was a bit of both. Trying to convince her it wasn’t a big deal - she knows she’s important to him - but also saying that she knows and she knows that they can’t cross that line much like in season 3 he said it’s not fair but her and Stephen bothers him but it doesn’t mean he wants to be with her before she cuts him off midway saying “I know. I know”. And he makes his way out but the moment he’s out the door, he registers the words he just said and closes his eyes because he meant them and it’s much like the time in season 3 when he let her take his car and said he’s choosing to walk after the whole Stephen ordeal and when he walks away you can see a flicker of emotion on his face, a regret that he didn’t push her back then and now he doesn’t want to lose what they have.
