Lion Cubs Born in Liuwa
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Liuwa’s first documented lion cubs in over a decade! Born to the young Kafue lioness on approximately the 22nd of December, we monitored her remotely before being able to verify the cubs this last week as they lay with their mother in the woods near camp. Lady Liuwa and the male have both been introduced to the new arrivals and are spending considerable time with the mother and cubs, all promising prospects for the newborns. To avoid disturbance pictures are not yet possible, so for now we celebrate a joint conservation success as the result of collaborative efforts between African Parks, ZAWA, WWF, the Barotse Royal Establishment and ZCP—a great start to the New Year!柳瓦雄狮与柳瓦夫人的结义姐妹开花结果的前奏！

Fortunately for the cheetah she escaped, but such an interaction underscores the potential impacts lions can have on other carnivore species. This varies across ecosystems and will undoubtedly change as the Liuwa lion population grows.
