Positives:
优点
1) Our gorgeouscampus. You're surrounded by nature and fresh air. We've been ranked top 10 mostbeautiful campus in the US by Forbes and many other magazines.
在我们超赞的学校，你会被自然与清新的空气包围。我们在各大杂志上被列为全美最美学校前十名。

2) Our sciencedepartment only gets better...Just last year (2013) two of our professors inthe Physics department won the nobel peace prize

3) Our economicsdepartment is ranked top 16 in the world (but don't quote me about the worldpart, it may just be only the US)

4) We have 10 separatecolleges, each unique in their own way and with their own personalities.So...combined, we're a mix of awesome.

5) Professors. Yes,they do care. A lot of them graduated from top schools (Harvard, Yale, etc.)and they're teaching us. My psychology 100 teacher taught in top schools anduses the same teaching techniques and materials to teach her class here.

6) Organic food.The cafeterias have organic options, it may be small like the salad bar, or itcould be big as in the main meal is organic...but regardless, it's organic/farmfresh from the farm right on campus.
有机食物。餐厅有有机选择，有点像沙拉吧，或者不拉不拉~~~他们的有机新鲜是源于学校的农场。

8)Culture/Traditions. Naked Run, 420, licking the first banana slug you see forgood luck, etc. I don't need to explain.
文化，传统。裸奔，420，为了幸运舔第一个你看见的香蕉鼻涕虫，我不解释了。呵呵。

9) Food. Sure, thedining halls aren't that great but they will have a very nice salad/fruit barin the least--yes, every dining hall has a salad/fruit bar. There's PerksCoffee shops, cafes, and eating areas period all over campus. Try the foodtrucks, they're amazing! We also have 2 small grocery stores.
食物，当然，食堂不是那么好不够我们至少有很好的沙拉水果吧，是的，每个食堂独有。学校里有有不啦不啦好多吃饭的地方。试试FOODTRUCK，它们棒极了。我们有两个小杂货店。

Negatives:
缺点
1) Drug culture.Let's face it, it's college...who doesn't drink, smoke, etc.? (Ok, a lot ofpeople, but you don't have to!) The nice thing is that the drug culture tendsto focus on one part of campus (Porter) and you don't have to be there if youdon't want to be...our campus, along with all UC campuses are going "smokefree" so that will help hopefully.
DP文化。面对他吧，这是大学。。谁不喝酒抽烟？很多人这样，但你不需要！好的方面是DP文化集中在学校的一部分（POTER）如果你不行到那你没必要去。。我们的学校，和UC系统将进行“禁烟”所以会有很好的帮助。

2) Limited Greeklife...which can be a positive for some people, but if that's important to youwe don't technically have much of a Greek life right now. It has been growingthese last few years though...so maybe by the time you come it'll be ready foryou?
有限的联谊会。。这对于很多人是积极地，不过如果联谊会对于你很重要我们没有很多的联谊会。这几年联谊会在不断增长，所以你来的时候可能它正在等着你！

3) Football. Wedon't have a lot of sporting events here but that doesn't mean we have none.Our women's rugby team is tier 2, or something like that? What we lack insports we make up for in music and ethnic groups here at UCSC.
橄榄球。我们没有很多体育活动，不过不代表我们没有。我们的女子橄榄球就BULABULABULA…我们在体育上缺失的会在音乐等组织上进行弥补。

4) Expensive. Everycollege is expensive. With FAFSA and the help of the financial aid office, it'spossible to go here with zero money out of pocket. I'm paying for school usingFAFSA and scholarships. I pay for books out of pocket
贵，所有学校都贵。但有着FAFSA和经济援助，这可能使你不用花钱。我就是靠他们的帮助。Ps：我只为书籍花钱。
