It’s hard to really argue too much when it comes to her selection, even though there was never really any criteria as to how she ended up getting this honor over some of the other singers on the show.“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” has obviously been a tradition for many years now, and what makes the first two hours important in this modern day and age is simply that Dick Clark made such a tradition for so many years of bringing music to television viewers. This is why as this countdown went on, you saw a number of performances from both past editions of “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” in addition to some episodes of the classic “American Bandstand.” So many artists ended up finding their place in the industry thanks to this show.
