The Americans want them to lose out. So do the Europeans who werenot in Ankara onthe same week as the Americans and Chinese were.

The contract is to build Turkey’s first long-range air and anti-missile defenseshield.

A senior defense procurement official said the three-way competition looks likeit has still not yet ended. “We have not yet signed a contract with any rivalmanufacturer. We shall remain receptive to improved offers from all threebidders,” he said.

On Sept. 26, NATO memberTurkey announced that it selected CPMIEC for the program, sparking a majordispute over whether the Chinese-built system could be integrated withthe NATO airdefense assets stationed in Turkey.
9月26号，北约成员国土耳其宣布挑选这家中国公司进行该项目，这引发了很大的争议，因为人们担心中国建造的系统能否与北约在土耳其的防空设备兼容。

. Despite warnings from U.S. and NATO officials whohave expressed concerns about interoperability problems, Turkey’s topprocurement official, Murad Bayar, has said the Chinese system would beoperable with the NATO assetsstationed in Turkey.

About half of Turkey’s network-based air defense radar picture has been paidfor by NATO, as they are part of the NATO Air DefenseGround Environment. Without NATO’s consent, it will be impossible for Turkey tomake the planned system interoperable with these assets, some analystssay.

I find this whole bussiness bazar,China a frend or foe willing to share technology,and our supposed allies wont share,Iran has the technology via china and is produceing long range missiles that can hit turkey and israel,Irans militarypower is thanks to chinese technology and are years ahead of turkey.
我发现整件事情有点集市（混乱）啊，作为朋友或者敌人的中国愿意和我们分享技术，而我们原本的盟友却不愿意和我们分享技术，而伊朗又通过中国获得了技术，并且正在生成可以打到土耳其和以色列的远程导弹，而多亏了中国的技术，伊朗的军力超过了土耳其的军力。

The message is clear: we have chosen the Chinese missile system on bases of what they offer, if you guys want Turkey to change mind offer better! All those nonse that NATO won't allow interoperability is nonsense, who is NATO? If Turkey is part of NATO than Turkey has a say in this one too, if not than NATO can go to hell.
所传达的信息很清楚：我们之所以选择中国，是基于其方案的诱人之处，如果你们想让土耳其改变主意，那就提供更好的方案出来！说北约不愿意与中国系统进行兼容，这简直就是废话，谁是北约？如果土耳其是北约的成员，那么土耳其在这件事情上当然有话语权，如果不是北约成员，那么北约就给我滚蛋。

It says in the article "About half of Turkey’s network-based air defense radar picture has been paid for by NATO, as they are part of the NATO Air Defense Ground Environment." Why have we never heard about this from Erdogan or the Turkish press?
文章中说“土耳其一半的基于网络的防空雷达设备费用都是北约支付的，因为这些位于土耳其境内的雷达属于北约防空地面设施的组成部分。”

As many predicted, including HDN's Mr.Bekdil, Turkey is gradually but surelybacking out of the Chinese deal while attempting to save face at the same time.In anycase, what really matters here is that Turkey remains in NATO andacquires a system which is not only compatible and interoperable but also madeby its NATO allies. The latter will benefit Turkey not only in t he defensefacet but in many others. Regards
