Wu Chun talking to the media on his new book - Ignite Courage
Did you know that Wu Chun's biography book, "Ignite Courage", was a best seller in Taiwan? It was sold out with 20,000 copies gone off the shelves. It was released in early October to an overwhelming response and now the publisher is making reprints of the first biography (Not sure if he will make a second one in the future).
The only setback for me is that I won't be able to understand the book apart from the pictures (tons of them) which do tell much about his journey to stardom. The obvious reason is the book is written in Chinese but Wu Chun did hint that he will release an English version soon to cater for those who can't read Chinese.
I won't spoil much on the content of his book and it's available now only at Fitness Zone for only $20. Here's the great thing about Wu Chun. He revealed that the sales of his biography will be donated to different charities in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Brunei Darussalam. For Brunei, he will donate the sale of the books to the Children Cancer patients and this is to commemorate his late mother who passed away from cancer. I thought that is a very nice touch of him to contribute back to the society.
During the interview, he shared how he's grateful for the local media (in Brunei) as compared to foreign media who are opportunists in publishing stories about his private life. This is, in fact, true. We don't pry on local celebrities especially during their private life unless it's by invitation to an official event. Recently there was a picture of him and his family being shot in Brunei and it appeared in a foreign entertainment magazine without his knowledge. He was disappointed with the magazine (the biggest gossip magazine in HK) but he was glad that the photographer(s) didn't approach him physically. Wu Chun is more concerned about his family and willing to protect his family especially with his children.
He shared that there are no "major secrets" in the book. Even after the revealed of his marital status and his new born baby and his biography, "nothing has changed" for his future. He is still active in the entertainment industry and he is currently taking a break in his upcoming movie project which will continue soon.
Wu Chun was kinda surprised that the "big news" that he shared recently have been very positive especially from sponsors and media agencies as they are looking for his endorsements and doing other activities. So you can see there are no signs of slowing down for our international (local) celebrity. His celebrity status has matured to another level and he joked that maybe the sponsors admired his (ignite) "courage" as his agent has been getting numerous calls.
You may notice on the cover of the book that Wu Chun's right eye has a shiny, glossy feel. It is actually an image of the world globe in his right eye. Initially he wanted a globe tattoo on his face for the book cover but his company advised that a tattoo face will look scarier. The world signifies that every individual is born in this world to make a difference and make this world a better place. He hopes that his influence and presence can make a difference to the community.
