"At the end of fashion week, my hair needs a good few weeks of TLC to get back to normal," Ruby says. "Now I love my natural color."

Shower Power
Shampoo can make or break your hair—especially when it's frequently dyed. "If you love your color and want to keep it, invest in a good sulfate-free shampoo," says Cunningham, Redken's creative consultant for color. We like Aloxxi Volumizing & Strengthening Shampoo ($22, aloxxi.com).

Go Deep
Adding moisture is necessary for restoring hair to a healthy state—but apply wisely. "Leave-in sprays can make hair greasy," says Harry Josh, stylist to stars like Amanda Seyfried and Selena Gomez. "I much prefer a treatment that sits on the hair and washes out." He recommends John Frieda Full Repair Hydrate + Rescue Deep Conditioner ($10, Target) once a week for ten minutes.

Bleach Break
It's OK to procrastinate, but only when it comes to color appointments. Much less expensive than a salon visit—and less time-consuming—is Color Wow Brass Banned Mousse ($24, Ulta). Denis de Souza, artistic director for the brand and colorist to Mila Kunis and Rachel Bilson, helped create it for red-carpet-ready quick fixes. "It cancels brassy tones," he explains.

On Guard
Rona O'Connor, colorist for Blake Lively, advises "lowering the heat settings on styling tools" to preserve healthy hair. And before firing up a blow-dryer or curling iron, always, always use a thermal protectant like Vidal Sassoon Heat Protect & Shine Spray ($4, Walgreens).
