Recap and review of Beauty and the Beast – Season 2 Episode 2 – Kidnapped:
One of the big questions heading into Season 2 of Beauty and the Beast was how the show would raise the stakes, and it’s a question that has only grown more pressing now that Muirfield is officially a thing of the past. “Kidnapped” gave us our answer, as we discover that despite Muirfield being history, the remnants of the organization live on in the form of other beastly creatures. Suddenly, Vincent (Jay Ryan) doesn’t seem as dark as he did last week. His mission could still possibly be motivated by revenge, but it’s clear now that even while his methods may be harsh, Vincent is still technically one of the good guys. Of course, it’s getting increasingly hard to tell as much, since he continues to push against his connection to Cat (Kristin Kreuk), and it’s that conflict that proves far more substantive than anything else.
