when I update Ubuntu from 6.10 to fersty 7.04,an error appear:
"gzip: stdout: No space left on device",
this is because of too little free space on /boot ,you can solve this problem in these three ways:
1: using partition tool to enlarge /boot
2: format /boot and reintall linux .
3: when you update your system,there is kernel left in /boot, then you can remove the kernel manually or using synaptic or apt-get tool.
To delete abandoned kernel manaully,you need only remove the items in menu.lst in /boot/grub, and then delete directories include kernel,usually you can find a kernel directory in "/lib/modules/".
rm -rdf xxxxx
