And it seems that Bradley Cooper, 38, and his 20-year-old model girlfriend Suki Waterhouse would like to keep it that way.
The pair arrived for a romantic dinner date in the Tribeca district of New York together, but chose to make their way into the restaurant separately.
Bradley looked pleased with himself as he flashed a smile to the cameras.
The Silver Linings Playbook star looked handsome - and dare we say it, youthful? - in jeans, a blue jacket and a pair of hipster style brown shoes.
His girlfriend dressed her age in a cute flowing dress, leather jacket and black Doc Marten boots.
Both wore sunglasses, despite the overcast Manhattan day.
And British-born Suki swept up her hair into a ponytail for the night out with her famous beau.
