Bond, ranked 25 provisionally to Hendry's nine, defeated Liang Wenbo in the qualifying rounds last month. The last time the pair met was in the 2006 world championships when Bond secured a dramatic last-frame triumph on a respotted black. "At the end of the day it's only a best-of-nine, so it's short match," he told the Matlock Mercury. "He's not really pulled a lot of trees up recently, although he got to the final of the UK Championships last year. "But I just worry about my own game. As long as I'm playing well I've got every chance of winning." Bond said he was happy with his 5-3 victory against Liang and looking forward to the snooker-mad atmosphere in Asia. "It was a good result because obviously with him having to start at [qualifying] round one, he'd played three matches in three days before he played me and had had a lot of table time," he continued. "In the first frame he had a 70 break, but I pinched the second with a 30 clearance and after that I played really, really well. "They're completely mad on the game [in Asia] at the moment. I'm really looking forward to it. The crowds will be very good and there will be millions and millions of people watching it on TV. "It'll be interesting to see how the tables play because I think it will be very humid out there, which will be similar to Thailand when we played there in the past. Sometimes the tables can be quite slow. "I fly out on Friday and I don't play Hendry until August 8th, so I've got a few days to acclimatise and get over the jet lag. "I'll be practicing, but I'll have a look around the place while I'm there. I imagine it's changed quite a lot from five years ago." Bond last played in Shanghai in 2002.
