'The Voice' Contestant Danielle Bradbery Tells Us About Blake Shelton and Being the Youngest Singer in the Competition (EXCLUSIVE!)
Danielle Bradbery is the youngest singer on The Voice this season. She is a 16-year-old self-taught country singer from Texas who wowed the judges from the first moment she stepped on stage.
Judges Blake Shelton, Usher and Adam Levine all turned for the young talent in the "Blind Auditions" and during the "Battle Rounds," Blake (her coach) gushed that Danielle's ability absolutely blows his mind.
We caught up with the young country singer and got to ask her a few questions about the battles, being bullied and what she thinks of her coach.
Not surprisingly, Danielle is every bit as adorable as we had expected!
Check out our Q&A with Danielle below...
Cambio: Blake Shelton said your ability blows his mind...how did that feel coming from such a huge superstar?
Danielle: When Blake told me that my voice blows his mind, I could not believe what I heard! What an honor and a dream come true. I have been speechless quite a bit in this competition!
You are the youngest singer in the competition. Is that intimidating or do you not mind it?
I am the youngest in this competition. I do not mind it at all. I have learned so much from the other artists. In a way, they have become like my big brothers and sisters! We are all very supportive of each other.
During the blind auditions, they said that was your first time singing in front of a crowd. Is it getting any easier as the competition goes on or is it still hard to get used to?
Since the blind auditions I have become more comfortable and confident being on stage. The more I sing on stage, the better I become. I get so excited when I'm about to go on! It's starting to feel very natural to me.
Being a self-taught singer, is it hard having a voice coach all of a sudden since you probably have your own way you're used to doing things?
Although I did teach myself how to sing. I didn't know the proper way to breath while singing, how to warm up, all of the things that make a real difference. Now that I have a voice coach, a whole new world has opened up to me. I can hear and feel a huge difference in my voice. I believe I have come a long way in a short time.
You had mentioned that you were bullied when you were younger...but you've obviously risen above it. What advice would you have for anyone who is being bullied or has been bullied in the past?
My advice to those who are, or have been bullied would be...HAVE FAITH, Stay strong, Keep believing in yourself. Try not to let anyone steal your joy. I know it's hard...but if I can get through it, SO CAN YOU!!!
What is one thing that surprised you about your coach, Blake Shelton?
The one thing that surprised me about my coach, Blake Shelton is...What you see is what you really get! He is funny, laid back, genuine and so very nice.
Does Blake remind you of anyone?
I guess you could say that Blake Shelton reminds me of my Dad. A country boy at heart and a gentleman.

Cypress teen Danielle Bradbery talks ‘Voice’ journey (so far)
“The Voice” has staked its claim by spotlighting seasoned singers in need of a second chance. Past winners Javier Colon, Jermaine Paul and Cassadee Pope (along with several finalists) had previous record deals and considerable road experience before soaring on the show. But season 4 might be the year of the newbie.Cypress singer Danielle Bradbery, just 16 years old, has already been called “the one to beat” by Adam Levine. Coach Blake Shelton called her “one of the most important artists that’s ever been on ‘The Voice.’”Lofty praise, but it might be warranted. Her commanding performance of Pam Tillis hit “Maybe it was Memphis” was a breakout moment. Bradbery’s studio version has spent most of today in the top 5 of the all-genre iTunes single chart (and at No. 1 on the country list).Bradbery talked to me about her TV journey, bonding with Savannah Berry and missing Cy-Ranch High School.
Is it tough being away from home?
It’s the first time this far from home. Being all the way in California, sometimes I think about it, and I miss everybody. But I know that I’ll be coming back soon. I’m living my dream here, so I handle it very well.
Was “The Voice” really your first time performing onstage?
I didn’t have much experience at all. My stepdad puts up festivals, and he would try to get any time for me to get up there to get used to everything. I performed awhile back at his festival called Cy-Fest in Cypress. I performed one song, and, yeah. I would always sing in my room for the most part.
What were some of your favorite songs to sing?
I love singing all kinds of songs. I love country, but anything that came on Pandora, just anything I had on my phone. I love singing Carrie Underwood, of course.
What prompted you to try out for the show?
My mom always heard me singing up in my room. I would literally come home from school and just go straight up in my room and sing for hours. She knew I was shy, but there’s a way to break out that. She went online and saw that the next auditions were in Dallas. She signed me up and told me that we were going.
Were you nervous before the blind audition?
Oh, wow. I was nervous, but I was actually really calm. I was surprised. When I went onstage, though, the confidence just blew up. It was cool. I felt like it was my comfortable place. It was really fun.
Did you go in wanting Blake Shelton as your coach?
I always watched the show at home. I would always tell my mom, ‘If I was on the show, I would be on Team Blake.’ But when the other coaches starting talking, I was like, ‘Well, wait a minute. They have really good advice. They want me on their team.’ But I just had to go with my gut. I knew I was in good hands.
What’s been the best part of working with him?
He definitely knew how shy I was. This is the most experience I’ve had. He kind of knew what was going on, so mostly he would work with me on confidence and really connecting with whatever song I’m singing, really telling a story. He really has good advice about how to sing a song and what to do to make it sound better.
Where did your love of singing come from?
Music has been in my family all my life. I’ve been around country music from my dad’s side. R&B music from my mom. My dad kinda sang and plays the guitar. My dad’s side of the family sings a lot. But I kinda taught myself from when I was little. I just sang all the time.
Did you bond with Savannah Berry, who was eliminated during the knockout rounds?
Once we got to know each other on the show, and found out we were from practically the same area, we got really close. When we had the time to go back home, we went to Blake Shelton’s concert at the Rodeo. That was really fun. We became like best friends. It was really hard (to see her leave the show.)
What do you miss most about home, aside from family and friends?
There are a lot of restaurants I would love to go back to. Shogun (Grill in Cypress) is where me and my friends go a lot. It’s a really good place.
Do you miss school?
I never thought I would say this, but I do. Cy-Ranch is a really fun school. We have an awesome baseball time, so I’m missing all their games. I’m sad about that, but I’ll be rooting for them here.
“The Voice” airs at 7 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays on NBC. (Come back for my recaps after every show!)

她于Pam Tills的热单“Maybe it was Memphis”有力的表现是一个爆发点。
