OKAY SO TODAY THE BEST THING HAPPENED TO ME.I was going to the Theatre, (The Young Vic to be precise), to see a show called A Piece of My Mind. We’d spent the afternoon on Southbank and eventually we headed over to the Theatre.
I was in Sainsbury’s with my friends when all of a sudden Sophie came over to me and said, “Nina, stay calm, but Benedict Cumberbatch is in the Theatre”. My first reaction was to leave the store immediately, and as I ran across the road I let everyone know that it would not be pretty if they were lying to me. By this point my heart was practically jumping out of my chest.
I gave everything to my friend Harrison and took a few friends inside with me. We were looking around frantically trying to find him, and I had honestly thought he had gone into the auditorium to watch a different play to me. Sophie patted me on the shoulder and pointed to the bar, “there he is”.
I darted through people to get to the bar. He was talking to someone so I waited all of 4-5 seconds before saying thus: “Excuse me, so sorry to interrupt but I am a huge fan of you and Sherlock. I was wondering if I could get a photo with you?” He looked at me and replied with: “That’s so nice! I’m just about to go into to the show… How about in the interval? Are you going to see A Doll’s House?”
For a moment I thought that I wasn’t going to get a photo with him. “No I’m going to see A Piece of My Mind”. He looked at me and then said, “Okay I’ll do it now”.
So I hurriedly passed my phone over to my friends, and they got the camera ready. He put his arm round me and they took the photo. I thanked him and then practically ran outside and just started crying. I am so so happy right now and I can’t believe it has actually happened. What an amazing thing!
PS. I know I’m not smiling, but my phone is being weird and won’t let me upload the other one!
