Maggie, Jim, and Don may have to share the romantic plot lines this year, and whileNewsroom fans may be split as to whether they like the romance or not, there is soon going to be a new face jumping into the fray.
We are all anxiously counting the days ’til we get back to the ACN newsroom and our favorite band of do-gooder news staffers and their various romantic entanglements, and we can now add one more member to that number.
According to Spoiler Chat over at Eonline, Neal will have a new lady around for season 2. The Newsroom’s resident tech genius and blogger extraordinaire will be trading witty repartee with an as yet uncast, attractive mtvU journalist named Aubrey, who is sure to give Neal a run for his money as she is described as being smart and outspoken.‘The Newsroom’ season 2’s other new faces
The lucky lady chosen to play opposite Dev Patel’s Neal will be in good company as far as new faces go this season. We have previously reported that Constance Zimmer will be taking on the press spokesman role for the Mitt Romney campaign when the Presidential election coverage takes off, as well as Joel Johnstone, who will be playing a Romney staffer, and Grace Gummer, who is to be playing a reporter embedded within the Romney campaign.
Outside the new faces around for election coverage, we also know that Marcia Gay Harden has stepped into the role of Rebecca Halliday, the litigator hired by the Atlantis Cable Network to defend them in a multimillion-dollar wrongful termination lawsuit. Also, Patton Oswalt will surely bring his comic flare to the role of Jonas Pfeiffer, the New Vice President of Human Resources. There are a lot of new faces this season, which are sure to start fresh conflicts with our already beloved cast of characters.
Season 2 is only a few short months away now, and after the panel at Paleyfest where the first 10 minutes were screened and received positive reviews from those in attendance, we are all encouraged that the story unfolding at ACN has only just begun.
