He spent countless hours at night driving my enormous bus through crowed streets and bad weather. He put up with the crazed fans who thought that Britney Spears was riding inside. Of course there is the gigantic face of me on the bus and huge letters spelling, "SKYE SWEETNAM" on the side, but some girls insist on coming aboard to check if Britney is sleeping in one of the bunks! Spidy also has the coolest southern accent in the world and knows so much about every city we visited. We'll be in Omaha or somewhere he'd know the names of all the native vegetation. He's also a killer skateboarder and would pay kids off in Skye buttons to borrow their boards. He collects rocks and stones and managed made me some awesome jewellery. Rock on Spider!- 5 by 5, Skye

Saturday, May 08, 2004Tangled Up In Me Video in the can[Posted by:Skye Sweetnam] Hey boys and girls, Last week I filmed my music video for "Tangled Up in Me". It was so much fun! One scene we filmed in a supermarket. The funny part was people could still come into the store & buy things while we were filming. One scene took place where I was sitting on some pork chops in the meat section. Between takes this cute old lady, oblivious to what was going on said to me, "don't sit on the meats, its not nice". Not much can force me to cancel a show, but unfortunately I had an I.V. in my arm. So to perform again is a breath of fresh air after having the flu. It was funny when we entered Hungary because my drummer Stu has a Hungarian last name, so the custom officers assumed he could speak the language. Too bad Stu had no clue! Rock on!- Skiz

I have ancestry in Ireland so it was cool that I was able to bring my family there to see me perform. I rarely wear pants on stage, but in Dublin I did. I was fooling around with Vinnie's keyboard at sound check wearing my FORCE t-shirt I bought at "Fantasia Land" with my "Fantasia Land Dollars." Britney treated us to a visit at a theme park in Germany. At the last minute before the park closed, we had all this extra Fantasia Land money that was only useable in Fantasia Land. So we went on a shopping spree and I got that t-shirt..... only to get syrup on it a day later.

I also was able to visit Lexington again where I filmed "SWITCHED" with Megan. Wish I could've stayed a bit longer. I now know how to pronounce Louisville properly thanks to my experience broadcasting the wrong pronunciation on the morning announcements at Megan's school. :)

Monday, August 09, 2004Pantene Pro-Voice Concert[Posted by:Skye Sweetnam] So I was in New York for the Pantene Pro-voice concert where I got to perform with Ashanti and my girl FeFe Dobson. I also got to speak with the winner of the contest Marie Digby. She was so sweet and her excitement for the performance helped remind me of how lucky I am to be in my shoes. She did an amazing job by the way! I made my boys wear jumpsuits and I wore a pink one! Hahaa! It was so great to do the full set on stage again!

I was so lucky to have the night off to see my old dance teachers from Bolton, V & Dan! Shout out to all the old Pizzazz and Jazz peps! Danny was performing on Broadway in the musical "Bombay Dreams." It was so cool to see him on stage in New York city! I highly recommend the musical too! The water dancing was great!

Wednesday, September 15, 2004Candies and Presents! Man, I Love Japan![Posted by:Skye Sweetnam] Hey guys, get a load of these candies that were made for me when I went to Japan last week! I had a blast! I bought more candy and clothes and toys, and finished so much press it was unbelievable! One photo shoot was for the fall issue so I had to wear a big huge furry coat outdide on a hot summers day! So to make things easier, my Japaneese buddies hired a personal fanner, to fan me and to hold an umbrella so I wouldn't be in the sun! Over the top! I tried to play games with him and walk quickly so he couldn't catch up to me or run really fast back to the bus. He was so determined to get to the bus before me! Just to make sure I had a cold glass of water from the cooler inside the bus, he'd jump over fences to get there first! Gotta love that service!
