自16集以来，大家都有一个疑惑，既然Cora和金叔都爱对方，为什么却他们的吻没有像金叔和贝儿的吻一样使金叔变回原来的样子呢，该集编剧Jane espenson给出了解答。

Jane 解释：因为虽然他们相爱，但这种感情还不足以打破诅咒，这也说明，贝儿与金叔的爱是特殊且有魔力的，这样的爱情才可以破解诅咒。jane同样说：贝儿知道自己不是金叔的第一段感情，但确实最好的一段。她同样解释：金叔显然现在已经不爱Cora了。下面发原文。

As writer Jane Espenson, who penned the episode, explained to a fan who wondered how Belle would feel about Rumple/Cora, "Belle knows that she's not likely to be his first love — just the best one."
Jane also noted that Cora's kiss wasn't enough to break the Dark One curse on Rumple, while Belle's kiss was. "Ergo, something is special / deeper / magical about the relationship with Belle."

And in case you thought Rumple asking Cora if she had once loved him was an indication that he still has feelings for her, Jane clarified, "He clearly doesn't still love Cora!"

只能说Cora爱的是邪恶、会魔法的金叔，Bella爱的是虽然邪恶、但是还能从他身上看到善良的金叔... 或者说爱的深度不同...
