Joe Jonas (23) leaves the trailer silently that is parked next to the stage, he glances up and goes to the portable toilets- he takes as long as any human- and comes back to his trailer. Matt Petroff (their manager that controls everything with the watch on his arm, every movement of the band members of the most successful and famous band in the last few years. They have sold more than 20 million CDs worldwide since their first appearance in 2006.
They called us by our name and let us in on holy ground where any girl who is waiting behind the gate wish they could be: the dressing room. Relaxed, the three brothers greeted us (I dodged Joe’s hand and kissed his cheek) and the jokes start: “We are sorry for the mess, but we had no time to clean. It happens when you’re on tour and the mess wins us over,” says Kevin (25). Red couches, windows covered with black paper, music coming out of a cell-phone, a/c to kill the 30° (Celsius) weather, different kinds of pizza, Starbucks coffee and water, lots of water, surrounding the trio. No diva deal: no blue roses petals covering the ground, no chocolates brought from south-east Asia from a three person town. They are normal dudes until they hit the stage. “Do you mind if we try some food while we do the interview? Truth is, I haven’t had breakfast and we have a long day ahead of us,” Nick (20) explains, even though he skipped lunch, since he tells us he is hungry at 3 PM.

Good or bad?
Kevin: It’s good to reach our goals and bad because we have no filter. We argue and make up like any other family. We’ve learned a lot about us and about the stories that surround us.
Reaching succession so young did turn you into something strange? I mean, do you suffer from strange lookers or critics?
Nick: Life has given us a lot of lessons. These years have stabilized our career. What bothered us at the beginning, we understand now. We don’t live away from the social media. We are open to listen to the bad and the good things about us, they are useful for learning. In the meantime we, enjoy the road.
What makes you sound so authentic?
Joe: The need to offer good recording material. We take our time to come out with an album. We don’t have any pressure when we work. It’s a relief.
What’s it like living surrounded by so many people?
Joe: We spend so many days touring that we become a big family. After every show we like to hang out and relax sometimes. The stage is a place with a lot of adrenaline. It’s hard to finish a show and go right to sleep. (He gets closer to the recorder and whispers). In general, we stay up until the next day. It’s like our guilty pleasure, but we end up exhausted.
Do you enjoy doing interviews or is it the bad side of fame?
Kevin: There are some creative and entertaining questions. Sometimes, we get surprised, but we understand that it’s a part of our job.
Nick: It’s a way to reach our audience.

Do you think of changing your style or do you want to remain with your original one?
Joe: In life you have to evolve. We are going to be honest with how we are, with the passion that makes us.
Matt signals the end of the interview. They invite to the show and the boys say goodbye for the last minutes of their rehearsals. Like that, from eating pizza to going to change clothes, they step on stage in the Personal Fest Verano 2013 in Parque Sarmiento. 40.000 people assist the show and 45.000 watched it online on the website. The track list that excited the audience were: Paranoid, Still In Love With You, BB Good, Last Time Around, That’s Just The Way We Roll, Play My Music, Give Love A Try, Gotta Find You, Let’s Go, Just In Love, Who I Am, Fly With Me, Wedding Bells, Hello Beautiful, Lovebug, When You Look Me In The Eyes (the song that marked the beginning of their career in 2007), SOS, and Burnin’ Up. There was also a very emotional moment, where the band dedicated a song to Sofia Koch. She was a fan, that passed away Friday night in a car accident while travelling to town to enjoy her idols concert. All the sad feelings, the Jonas boys made too.
