突然翻译这篇文章是因为前几天在家无聊时用平板浏览器谷歌了一下LT，发现了这个蛮有趣的报道，不过很老了，是96年的，如果不是因为里面讲了很多关于LT和RIMA婶子的事情我估计都懒得看吧。
原文不算短也不算长，我大概看了一遍觉得这作者还是多少八卦了一些东西出来，应该还是有点意思。看着满篇密密麻麻的英文我觉得很头痛，所以干脆开始试着翻译一点点（最近正好因为想提高英文所以在偶尔练习翻译文章报道），不知不觉中一口气翻译完了（全仗着一颗八卦的心），发觉实际新内容也不多，大多数都是大家都知道的，不过好歹也是一篇报道么，于是想要拿来给大家分享。我查了一下，也不知道贴吧里是否已经有过这篇了？如果有了就请G大把此篇删去吧。
由于本人是学中文而不是专业英语的，所以翻译水平很烂，纯属业余爱好，有些句子可能翻译错了有些可能读不通还有些采取了意译或者几句合成一句说的方法==全文译文后面我贴上原文，英语强的同志们上吧！

He's Britain's sexiest actor, yet he's been with one woman for 30 years. In a new biography of the enigmatic Alan Rickman, Express writer Maureen Paton revels the man behind the myth. Alan Rickman may not be conventionally good looking, but he has a sexual charisma that fascinates women. Those narrow Grand Vizier eyes, the colour of pale amber, seem to look down his long nose.
In hie most fameous stage role, as the Vicomte de Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, there is something of the Marquis de Sade in his appeal to women as an arrogant, feline fop. Perhaps that's why this intriguing maverick gets sackloads of intrusive and obscene mail from otherwise respectable women, for whom he represents some kind of release from sexual repression. "Alan has a quality which is attractive to both men and women. It's what makes star quality: it means that everyone is looking at you,' says theatre director Jules Wright. And yet Rickman has an ambivalent attitude towards the sexual power that has made him a major star. "Alan is incredibly aware of his professional sexual charisma," says a playwright friend, Stephen Davis. "He has hordes of women writing to him. It gets in the way, and he wants to avoid being cast for it. He's not an exploitative person in his private life, not in the remotest a sexual predator. He's vexed by this image - this matinee-idol hold over the audience. In his personal life, he has enormous self-control... unnervingly so." Indeed, there is a pronounced contrast between the often sexually avaricious characters he plays and his personal life. Female admirers will be disappointed to learn that he has been faithful to Rima Horton, his first and only girlfriend, for over three decades. Yet in fil***ike Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves he has acted out precisely the promiscuity he shuns in real life. Wanting to have some fun with the film, he turned the sheriff of Nottingham into a mad, ranting glam-rock villain, who mouthed such hilariously evil lines as: "Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans. No more merciful beheadings - and call off Christmas." The result was a role that was a huge popular hit, and so completely upstaged Kevin Costner that there are stories circulating to this day about how Costner removed Rickman's best scenes from the final cut in the editing room. Though Rickman's Sheriff was mad, bad and dangerous to know, he still exuded an evil appeal. "You, my room 10:30 tonight," he said casually to one wench in his castle. "You, 10:45,"he added to her companion. "...And bring a friend!" The impact sent Costner reeling. "At first Costner didn't really know who Alan was," says a movie insider. "Rickman's name meant nothing to him . But when they started filming, Costner went into a sulk when he realized what a formidable actor Alan was. Hence the re-editing of the final version.
"Costner has his reputation for being incredibly well-endowed physically,' the insider continues. "It made his name in Hollywood. And that's why he wouldn't wear the tights in the role of Robin of Locksley. Frankly it would have been too obvious, so they made him a pair of breeches instead. The joke is that Alan Rickman still upstaged him with that wonderful roguish quality. He just had such a powerful presence."

That presence was already well known to British women, who had swooned at the RSC's acclaimed 1985 production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
As Valmont, Rickman played the cynic with a mission to corrupt the innocent young lovers around him. To play the role, he arrived on stage looking rakish in a long frock coat and boots behaving like a sexual highwayman.
Rickman himself said: "I knew I had to seduce 200 people in the audience as well as the women in the play. The quality of stillness and silence (in the theatre) was a measure of how far we had succeeded." He certainly had. The atmosphere was electric and he was besieged by fan letters. A typical note would read: "I'm a feminist but I don't understand how you can have this effect on me..."
Yet in real life, Rickman, 50, is nothing like these stage and screen incarnations. he is a one- woman man whose fidelity to Rima - and hers to him is legend. "Alan is quite unpromiscuous, which is very rare for actors," says a friend, the playwright Dusty Hughes. Alan met Rima, who became an economist and labour councillor in the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea, at Chelsea College of Art in 1965. She was a labourer's daughter from Paddington - a small, dark, sweet faced young woman with a calm self-possessed air. Alan and Rima bonded instantly, they thought alike and had the same dry sense of humour. They protected each other and have done so ever since in a relationship that has outlasted many of their friends' marriages. Although Rima is a year younger than Alan, she has always seemed older. "When I first saw Alan with Rima, they didn't seem a very coupled couple,' says Dusty Hughes, who has known the couple since 1981.
"But I was wrong. I began to notice when I visited Alan in Stratford-on-Avon that he seemed calmer when she was around. She centers him. She's very important to him. She came up to do his garden at his cottage in Stratford when he was with the RSC - she planted annuals everywhere."
Alan read a Shakespeare sonnet at Dusty's wedding to Terese Hickey. That marriage broke up three years later, while Alan and Rima's unusual arrangement is still going strong. "Neither of them are slaves to convention,' says the actor and director Richard Wilson (now most fameous as One Foot in the Graves' Victor Meldrew), explaining why they have never seen the need for a formal contract. Another friend says: "Alan would have married if he had wanted children."
Rima has inevitably had to put up with Alan attracting a great deal of female attention. This first became obvious in 1982, when The Barchester chronicles was airing on BBC television. Alan was playing another bizarrely attractive villain. Obadiah Slope, the bishop's chaplin who flirts with wealthy women for advancement
Just how attractive was obvious when RSC artistic director Adrian Noble invited him to Tunbridge Wells for the opening of a production of the Opera Don Giovanni. "There was a real fission about him, especially amoung omen of a certain age", Nobel says. And it was all because of Obadiah Slope. Rima was always fantastically philosophical about it - she found the female attention funny. It was the most extraordinary evening. All those Tunbridge Wells ladies definitely wanted to be mislead by Alan Rickman."

There relationship became even more unconventional in 1989 when Alan became a member of the property owning-classes with the money he earned from Die Hard. He was 43 and, after half a lifetime in the theatre, it was the first time he had been able to afford the rent on her Holland Park flat since 1977, but Die hard had at last made a significant differences to his finances. Rima stayed put because she was required to live or work in her borough to remain a councillor. He brought a œ250,000 maisonette just over a mile away.
A close friend says: "He told me he was worried about how Rima might take it when he decided to move out." But in truth, they lead such different lifestyles it's hardly surprising they find it difficult to share and his burgeoning film career made even more of a difference. Once you start playing the Hollywood game, you have to make yourself available to work around the world on short notice.
The restless Rickman is forever on the move, while Rima is home-based by virtue of sitting on no fewer than 10 council committees. "We were all very worried about them at first when Alan set up on his own, " says one close friend. "But it seems to have worked itself out." Though the decision alarmed all of their friends for a while, the arrangement seems to suit them both. So far, they are solid as ever. If he is a pessimist, she is an optimist. "Rima has a very sunny nature, she's vert pragmatic with her feet on the ground, ' says dramatist friend Peter Barnes. "It's a great help that she's not in the profession herself." Espousing the easy-going attitudes of the Sixties, they have never bothered to get married. Who needs a ring for commitment? Such steadfastness is remarkable in his profession, since he spends much of his time abroad on location.
"Rima and Alan are like-minded people - it's a common-law marriage of true minds,' says Stephen Davis. "They were once in CND together. They argue a lot about politics." Indeed, a fervent political discussion is their idea of a good night in. Tomorrow: Part 2, from humble to stardom.
