Two years after making her mark on the Grammy stage with Rihanna, Eminem and Dr. Dre, Skylar Grey had something new to smile about on Sunday's red carpet. "I'm excited because I finally love my album," she told Billboard. "I liked it a lot, but there was something missing -- so I took an extra year to finish it. I'm so glad I did, some of my favorite songs on the album were written just in the past few months." Grey was "in between all these different worlds" after performing at the 2011 Grammys, a gig which led to opportunities, but also the danger of spreading her sound too wide. After two years of experimenting (and Eminem stepping in as executive producer), she said she's finished an album that feels "like me." "It's got a lot of hip-hop beats, but it's not hip-hop," she said. "It's very melodic." The long-awaited album, "Don't Look Down," still doesn't have a release date, but Grey says it's in the mixing process -- and to expect it "sooner rather than later."
