As far as the opening act, Phillip Phillips did an extraordinary job with a great 7-song acoustic set. The winner of season 12 of American Idol left it all on the stage after a hard day of promotion at radio stations throughout the city. We got to meet him earlier at a local radio station. The highlights of his set were a cover of Emine***ose Yourself” and, of course, his first big hit, “Home.” He showed approval of the reception the San Antonio crowd had for him and provided a good little opening before the big appearance by Matchbox Twenty.
