Adam Levine Slams The Roxy, They Name Room After HimMonday night‘s episode of
The Voice on NBC was full of awkward moments, between Melanie Martinez’s now public break-up and Christina Aguilera’s lackluster critiques of the artists, but the most cringe-worthy comments came from Maroon 5 front man
Adam Levine, who took some time to slam
The Roxy, not once, but a few times when talking about Cassadee Pope’s performance. Now, the legendary club is responding to Levine’s diss. How?
Who knew that Cassadee Pope’s decision to cover a Michelle Branch song would ignite a rock ‘n roll feud?!
After her performance of “Are You Happy Now,” Adam Levine praised Pope for her knockout vocals, but hit a little below the belt, calling out the Sunset Strip club for slighting his band waaaay back in the day when they opened for Branch.
“I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn’t even give us a dressing room,” Levine quipped. “I hate the Roxy. I’ll never play there again.”
Stuck in an awkward position, Pope tried to show at least a little love for the Roxy, but was quickly shut down by the “One More Night” singer, who continued,
“Oh, the Roxy is horrible. Don’t ever go there.
“They screwed us over and now they’re paying for it.”
Bitter, party of one!
So how did the club respond?
After an initial tweet of, “Ummm, what was that about?” (Our thoughts exactly!), they followed up with a photo of their new marquee, which reads:
“Adam Levine Your Dressing Room Is Ready.”
Then, sensing the need for more penance, the famous LA club, that has been the sought after venue for practically every struggling act in Los Angeles, announced in a separate tweet that they have named their dressing room after the Maroon 5 Singer and The Voice coach.
